Thomas Pearson

Thomas is captivated by the craftsmanship and technical skill inherent in both glass and oil painting. His work delves into his personal experiences, capturing with themes loss, grief, and fragility, often drawn from the quiet moments of private life.

Inspired by the living world, particularly the interplay of light and colour in the Australian landscape, Thomas creates pieces that reflect his deeply personal connection to making. His art is dialectically both an intimate expression of his own experiences and a broader commentary on the universal narratives of life.

Thomas is an early career artist working in Canberra, Australia. He has worked and taught in Australia, Murano (Italy), the United States, China, and Belgium. His work has been collected by the Australian National Glass Collection, Glazenhuis (Belgium), and notable private collections.

Thomas recently completed a Bachelor of Clinical Psychology (Hons.), for which he earned the University Medal, and a Master of Clinical Psychology . He has published papers on perinatal grief and works in mental health services.
